There was a great turn out of both fans and players for the alumni basketball game, held on January 7, 2012.

The quarters were 20 minutes each and both teams played very hard. The teams were split up by young and old with a couple of faculty on each team. The alumni who played the game were Clayton Coltman ’92, Josh Harris ’08, David Pecunia ’10, Woody Frankel ’10, Caith McKee ’08, Ian Teti ’10.Tom Haviland ’78, Martin Echewa ’84, Jeff Baird ’08, Bob Batley ’81 (Coach), Jon Schauer ’10, Kevin Moore ’79, Brian Robinson ’96, Mutinda Kivuitu ’03, Leroy Dunn ’02, Sophie Miller ’10, and Jared Frank ’10. The faculty that were in attendance were Norm Robinson, Wei HaoWu, Eric Mayer, and Jamal English.

Barb Downey was also there as an honorary coach, as she is the wife of the late great Tom Downey who passed away last May. He was the Director of Security for the school for a long time and also coached both the boys and girls basketball teams.

The teams started off on equal footing, but about halfway through the first half the younger group of alumni were able to take a strong lead and keep it for the rest of the game. The final score was 63-34.  It was a very fun game to watch, and was a wonderful way to show the skill of current and former Westonians.
